A national benchmark
Following the gradual arrival of businesses, which began in later 2015, Rungis’s Halle Bio organic indoor market is now complete. Spanning 5,600m2, it is the largest sales area devoted to organic products in Europe, making Rungis the new national benchmark in the field. Indeed, nearly 70 of the Market’s operators were already offering organic products across all sectors of the market.
This specialist pavilion, the second of its kind following the opening of F5C devoted to gastronomic products in 2013, marks a further milestone in the diversification of the Rungis offering that reflects consumer expectations and makes it possible to provide a high-end outlet for organic goods.

A comprehensive offering
The organic indoor market offers a comprehensive range thanks to the seven specialist businesses located there: Biovive Rungis – a platform for fresh products made from cow’s, ewe’s and goat’s milk, along with special plant-based products, Di Spé Ré BIO, offering cold cuts, delicatessen and dairy products, smoked salmon and gastronomic products, Dynamis, specialising in fruit & vegetables and delicatessen products, Maison Bio’Sain and its wide range of local delicatessen products and allergen-free products, Parigovino – a wine cellar stocking some 400 different products, ProNatura – a network of organic market gardeners and farmers -, and last but not least organic meat counter Rungis Viandes Bio.
Year upon year, organic products continue to gain in popularity. In 2016, according to Agence Bio, 90% of French citizens consumed some form of organic product, 70% at least once a month and 15% on a daily basis. Topping the list of organic purchases were fruit and vegetables, dairy products and eggs. This has served to accelerate the growth of the market, which increased by 20% in 2016 to seven billion euros.
